JBL Cove brings whole-home Wi-Fi sound to Singapore

JBL has launched in Singapore the Cove series, a trio of Wi-Fi speakers built to fill every room at home with minimal fuss.

The range has three models. The Cove M1 is the compact everyday speaker, with three tweeters and one woofer. The Cove P1 is the portable one, adding an up-firing tweeter, Dolby Atmos and a battery that lasts up to 14 hours. It is rated IP56 and recharges by sitting on its dock. The highest-spec Cove X1 comes with four tweeters (one up-firing) and dual woofers for 3D, room-filling Dolby Atmos sound.

The range of speakers can be used in silo, as a stereo pair or as part of a multi-room setup. Features such as self-tuning adjusts the sound to the room allowing you to put them wherever you like and is less restrictive. JBL’s Constant Sound Field also helps keep audio balanced across the room, while AI Sound Boost helps reduce distortion at high volumes.

A few features stand out. Music Follows Me lets you press and hold the Moment button to move your playlist to another room, with no phone or app needed. Spotify Tap, on the same button, starts Spotify in one press. Setup takes three steps and the JBL One app is optional. Grouping is flexible, so you can play in one room without ungrouping or resetting anything.

The Cove speakers also work with JBL Bar MK2 soundbars (Bar 300, 500, 800, 1000 and 1300), serving as rear channels for a Dolby Atmos home theatre. This works with the M1 and P1 now. X1 support will come in a future software update.

Connectivity covers high-res audio over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect.

Prices in Singapore:

  • JBL Cove M1: S$399
  • JBL Cove P1: S$659
  • JBL Cove X1: S$799

The JBL Cove speakers are available in white and black from the JBL Online Store and authorised retailers.
