Isetan Scotts’ Confectionery Fair will feature the Korean Regional Specialties Pop-Up from September 26 to October 1. Originally scheduled to open on the 25th, the pop-up will be held at Basement 1 Food Hall, Shaw House, from 10am to 9pm daily.
Organised by Korlink Singapore in collaboration with Isetan and Jeollanamdo SME Job Economic Promotion Agency (JEPA), this event is a deliberate departure from the mainstream K-snack aisle. It highlights Jeollanam-do, known as the “Kitchen of Korea” for its pesticide-free farmland and abundant coastal produce, and its cultural hub Gwangju.
Visitors of the pop-up will have the opportunity to sample brands making their local debut. This includes healthier snack options such as FAVORIPS’ umami-rich Shiitake Mushroom Chips, SIEOMNI-GA’s colourful fig-and-strawberry Oranda, Nature Craft Studio’s flash-fried Gim Bugak seaweed crisps and Wando Abalone’s porridge and soup which can be prepared in five minutes. These products are guided by a philosophy of being regional, current and natural with clean ingredients and lighter indulgence in mind.
The fair offers a taste of Korea beyond Seoul and also showcases items from generations-old family bakeries including Jaemae-ga.
