Singaporean stroke survivor pens inspirational book on life’s miracles

Stroke. Its mere mention strikes fear and terror to many. But, stroke is not the end. There’s still hope.

Mira Ros (pen name for Rosalind Lim) has written her first book, Your One Precious Life, drawing from her personal stroke survival and decades of self-inquiry.

The book serves as a reflective guide for those facing illness, burnout or life transitions, emphasising the wisdom within one’s cells and body.

A subarachnoid haemorrhage and transient ischemic stroke shattered Mira Ros’ language centres, leading to a profound awakening where she experienced pure awareness beyond ego and identity.

This rupture revealed the body’s innate intelligence — her 50 trillion cells acting as an orchestra — and inspired chapters on presence, letting go, emotional alchemy, and fearless living.

Recovery became a rebirth, teaching that happiness emerges from returning to one’s original state rather than chasing external achievements.

“This is not an instruction manual — this sits quietly beside the struggling, whispering that life, even when altered, remains precious,” shares Mira.

Mira founded Art Apart Fair to provide affordable spaces for artists to connect with audiences. She previously held senior roles at Microsoft, Edelman, Hill & Knowlton and Ogilvy in strategy, communications and brand leadership.

More than 30 years of happiness inquiry and a decade of journaling fuelled the book after her stroke prompted a reevaluation of purpose. Her pen name is derived from “Miracle Ros,” symbolising renewal.

The e-book launches on Amazon on January 26, 2026, priced at US$8.50 (S$11.95), with a print edition to follow later this year.
