If you’re longing for a delightful adventure that tantalises your taste buds and sparks your curiosity, look no further than the activities by Chinatown Business Association in Singapore.
They offer an array of captivating activities at the Chinatown Visitor Centre, designed to attract both locals and foreigners alike. I recently took part in a kombucha beginners workshop there, and I must say, it was an insightful one!

The workshop ambiance was warm and inviting, with the passionate instructor, Melissa Mak from Fizzicle, ready to share her knowledge about kombucha. We learnt the basics of this delightful drink, its history in Singapore, and the fermentation process that turns tea into a magical elixir.
The instructor guided us through each step of brewing our own kombucha, from selecting top-quality tea leaves to nurturing the starter, responsible for fermentation. She also shared insider tips for infusing our brew with flavours like zesty citrus (as long as there’s no oil!) and aromatic herbs, allowing us to craft unique creations.

What impressed me most was the tasting session we had and the abundance of tips and tricks shared during the workshop. I left with more knowledge on brewing kombucha at home, and as a parting gift, we received a bottle of our kombucha and a starter bottle.
This kombucha workshop was just a glimpse into the diverse range of activities offered by the Chinatown Business Association at the Chinatown Visitor Centre.
From hands-on art sessions and physical activities to culinary activities such as dumpling-making and the kombucha workshop, there’s something for everyone. These experiences foster a sense of community and cultural appreciation while engaging with Chinatown’s rich heritage.
Looking ahead, the Chinatown Business Association has an exciting lineup of activities from August to December. To stay up-to-date, visit their webpage at https://chinatown.sg/. Explore their offerings, unlock hidden gems, and create cherished memories in this one-of-a-kind neighbourhood.
I wholeheartedly recommend taking part in the Chinatown Business Association’s activities. You’ll learn new skills, indulge in delightful experiences, and support the local community!
