Hong Kong specialty coffee brand, The Coffee Academics, has paired up with Cathay Pacific to make a coffee-blend made for the skies.
This blend, called the Cathay Blend, features full and balanced profiles of beans from Vietnam and Brazil. At high altitudes, taste buds and sense of smell are dulled and muted, and the Cathay Blend is said to provide a rich, full-bodied and smooth flavour suitable for the environment. With each coffee portion individually packaged with a biodegradable filter, The Coffee Academics ensures a clean and consistent brew onboard flights.
Established in 2012, The Coffee Academics proudly provides quality coffee in form, as well as experience. Coffee beans are fully roasted in Hong Kong, ensuring consistency across their outlets in Asia — something I think is worth highlighting.
This Cathay Pacific partnership is yet another landmark milestone for The Coffee Academics, allowing the brand to put their craftsmanship to the test once again on the world stage with flights from Cathay Pacific. For the airline, it plays up its commitment to supporting homegrown brands while also improving the airline experience for its passengers.
Having tried the food and coffee at The Coffee Academics in Singapore, I have to say that they have pretty good offerings. While I can’t declare that I’m a coffee connoisseur, I can say I am thrilled to try this new coffee blend on my next Cathay Pacific flight.
