In a demonstration of service, solidarity and walking the talk, The Food Bank Singapore (FBSG) marked the nation’s SG60 celebrations by rallying its own board members, staff, their families, and long-time volunteers to pack food bundles for those in need.
The Joy in Every Bundle event, held at Bishan Community Club’s Multi-Purpose Hall, on August 16, resulted in more than 1,200 food bundles being packed and delivered to low-income families, elderly residents and vulnerable individuals across Singapore. Beneficiaries included residents from the Bishan East-Sin Ming division, as well as communities supported by Sunlove and Pertapis.

From the newly-formed board of directors (above with MP for Bishan East-Sin Ming Elysa Chen in middle row, second from left) and senior management to staff members and their loved ones, the FBSG family worked shoulder-to-shoulder with regular volunteers.
By blurring lines between leadership and ground effort, the initiative highlighted that giving back is not just an organisational mission, but a personal commitment shared by all.
“This event is about fostering unity within our own ranks while giving back to the community we serve. By working shoulder-to-shoulder, our staff, volunteers, and board members have gained a deeper appreciation of the impact our work has on the ground,” said Koh Chaik Ming, Chairman of The Food Bank Singapore.
Joy in Every Bundle is also FBSG’s way of thanking the community for years of support, without which its mission to fight food insecurity would not have been possible.
