Amazon investigates customer data sale

Amazon logoWith heightened sensitivity on data privacy, Amazon has moved swiftly to investigate claims that its staff has sold confidential data to third parties.

A Wall Street Journal report noted that the e-commerce giant’s employees are offering internal data and other confidential information to independent merchants who sell their goods on Amazon.

In exchange, the employees receive payments of US$80 to more than US$2,000.
